About ShotJudge
ShotJudge is a photography competition platform that provides AI-powered image analysis scored against real federation competition criteria. It serves both individual competition photographers and camera clubs, providing tools for image assessment, distinction panel preparation, and live digital scoring on competition nights.
What ShotJudge Does
- AI image analysis — each image scored against your federation's criteria (IPF 1-15, PAGB 1-25, RPS pass/fail) with detailed feedback on impact, composition, technical quality, creativity, and storytelling
- Personal photo vault — secure cloud storage with automatic EXIF extraction and AI-powered genre, mood, technique, and subject tagging
- Distinction panel builder — drag-and-drop panel construction for LIPF, AIPF, FIPF, LRPS, ARPS, FRPS, CPAGB, DPAGB, and MFIAP submissions, with AI assessment tailored to each distinction's specific criteria
- Salon acceptance tracker — track PSA and FIAP acceptances across international exhibitions with progress dashboards showing requirements met for each distinction level
- Live digital scoring for camera club competitions — judges score on their phones, images display on a projector, results appear in real-time
- Barcode print management — generate barcodes for print competitions, scan to identify and score prints at club nights
- Season-long statistics — league tables, progress tracking, and competition history across clubs and federations
Supported Photography Federations
- IPF (Irish Photographic Federation) — LIPF, AIPF, FIPF distinction pathway. Panel-based assessment with category declaration at AIPF/FIPF level.
- RPS (Royal Photographic Society) — LRPS, ARPS, FRPS distinctions. Cohesive panel assessment with hanging plan evaluation. Pass/fail by 5 assessors.
- PAGB (Photographic Alliance of Great Britain) — BPAGB through MPAGB. Individually scored by adjudicators on a 1-25 scale with aggregate pass thresholds.
- FIAP (Fédération Internationale de l'Art Photographique) — NFIAP through MFIAP. Acceptance-based for lower levels (salon acceptances), panel-assessed for MFIAP.
- PSA (Photographic Society of America) — QPSA through GMPSA. Entirely acceptance-based, earned by accumulating acceptances in PSA-recognised exhibitions.
- BIPP (British Institute of Professional Photography) — LBIPP, ABIPP, FBIPP professional qualifications.
- The Societies (SWPP) — LSWPP, ASWPP, FSWPP qualifications.
- MPA (Master Photographers Association) — LMPA, AMPA, FMPA professional qualifications.
How AI Panel Assessment Works
ShotJudge adapts its AI assessment to match how each federation actually assesses panels:
- Individual assessment (PAGB, IPF LIPF) — each image scored on its own merit. No cohesion requirement. A mixed-genre panel of strong images can pass.
- Cohesive assessment (RPS, IPF AIPF/FIPF, FIAP MFIAP) — the panel assessed as a body of work. Cohesion, sequencing, narrative thread, and tonal consistency evaluated.
- Hanging plan assessment (RPS) — edge image direction, orientation balance, and visual rhythm across rows assessed as part of the panel.
- Acceptance tracking (PSA, FIAP) — progress dashboards showing acceptances toward threshold, geographic spread, and representative image validation.
For Camera Clubs
- Digital scoring replaces paper scorecards — judges score on their phones
- PDI projection with live results display on a projector
- Barcode labels for print identification and scan-to-score
- Multi-club league tables and season-long statistics
- Competition scheduling, entry management, and automated awards
- Anonymous judging mode for fair assessment
